FMA are a design and conservation based practice who undertake all types of projects but have particular expertise in dealing with older properties, Listed Buildings and those within Conservation Areas. Alex McIntyre is qualified to undertake work to Listed Buildings and also works for English Heritage. We undertake repairs and re-modelling to fine country houses and their smaller estate buildings. We have experience in designing and securing planning permission for replacement houses, particularly in Conservation Areas and rural locations. We also have experience in designing buildings within flood plains of rivers and are involved with our third new build house of this type. Whitehaven in Startford-upon-Avon has won the National Homebuilder Design Award 2005 for best house of one or two storeys. We also undertake projects which are sustainable and are specifiying works including ground source heating, grey rainwater collection and other environmental products.
