McChesney Architects is an award winning architectural practice the designs high quality innovative architecture. The practice was founded by Ian McChesney, a graduate of the Royal College of Art and former associate at John McAslan & Partners. Notoriety was gained through the commission for a series of rotating wind shelters for Blackpool’s South shore promenade. This project was won through international competition, and more recently the practice won RIBA competitions for a music station in the city of Durham, and a Pavilion for Avenham Park in Preston. The practice recently featured in the Architect’s Journal 40 under 40 exhibition at the Victoria and Albert Museum showcasing the most talented architects under the age of 40 in the UK. The practice works across a broad range of disciplines that include public art, residential, public and commercial commissions.
