Octopi was formed in 1998 as a multi-disciplinary design company and incorporated in 2003. The Directors, James Lowe and Chris Romer-Lee, studied together at Plymouth School of Architecture and The Bartlett, University College, London. Post training, both Directors worked in small established architectural practices and overseas in New Zealand and Dubai. The practice has extensive experience in both residential new build and refurbishment for private clients and additionally in the educational, leisure and exhibition Sectors Worked. The Directors' research, development and expertise in different Sectors Worked is at the core of their collaboration as Octopi. James' and Chris' fusion of diverse skills enables Octopi to offer a broad range of ability and thinking that is centred around a questioning of space, its boundaries and our occupation of it.
