Friend & Company is a registered RIBA practice that specialises in small public projects in education and sports Sectors Worked. We believe passionately in the creative use of the latest technologies and work methods to produce award winning architecture. We promote the integration of environmental design in the early stages of design development and endeavour to find innovative sustainable solutions that are no more expensive than traditional processes of construction. The Principal, Adrian Friend, previously worked with John McAslan & Partners (JMP) and Hodder Associates. Whilst at JMP, Friend was responsible for the new Imperial College Library extension that included a new music performance space called the Blyth Hall. Valuable knowledge was also gained on the addition of a new auditorium to Arne Jacobsen’s grade 1 listed St Catherine’s College Oxford, whilst working with Hodder Associates. These required collaborative teamwork with structural and environmental specialists, and acoustics design consultants.
