Koru Architects specialise in environment-friendly or 'green' architecture. We undertake residential and small commercial projects including new build, extensions and refurbishments. Koru Architects believe in and promote innovative, contemporary design that is thoughtfully guided by the principles of environmental sustainability. Our approach to each project is unique yet our aims are the same: to create spaces that are delightful and comfortable, yet affordable. We focus on energy conservation and efficiency and give careful consideration to passive environmental design as well as renewable energy generation systems. We promote environmentally friendly products and materials that are low in embodied energy, from sustainably managed or recycled sources, that are non-toxic and sourced locally where possible. Creative use of light and space, attention to detail, passive environmental design and careful selection of materials are all key characteristics of Koru Architects projects.
