Gale & Snowden Architects award winning design work is informed by our concern with the creation of structures & landscapes that are energy efficient, healthy and ecologically sustainable. We seek to create buildings that rest harmoniously with nature rather than fighting against it. Our designs are sympathtic with people's needs & are mindful of the wider ecology. The buildings created consume the least possible energy, cause the lowest levels of pollution & make the lightest possible environmental footprint. We employ a practical & imaginative approach to the need for light, space & air in simple structures, bounded by natural materials, i.e. wood & slate. The resultant buildings feel comfortable & healthy to be in, uplifiting & inspirational. Their efficiency means low energy & water bills as well as frugal carbon emissions & low environmental impact. Materials are chosen for their low embodied energy, are non toxic & are produced as locally as possible.
