Isambard Kingdom Brunel

English engineer and inventor, born in Portsmouth, son of Sir Marc Isambard Brunel.

• Hungerford Suspension Bridges.
• Saltash Bridge over the Tamar.
• Ship designs: the Great Western (1838), the Great Britain (1845) and the Great Eastern, in collaboration with John Scott Russell.
