Thomas Archer
(1668–1743)
Born in Tamworth, Thomas Archer's was the third member of the great triumvirate of English Baroque architects, along with Vanbrugh and Hawksmoo. His work was chiefly in ecclesiastical architecture.

- Birmingham Cathedral (1709-15).
- The Church of St Paul's, Deptford (1712-30).
- The Church of St John's, Westminster (1714-28).
- North elevation at Chatsworth with its pilastered bow front (best-known remaining work).
